How much is entry?
Entry to GABYS is $5 per person. Kids under 12 are free.
Is GABYS Wheelchair and/or Pram Accessible?
Yes! GABYS is both wheelchair and pram accessible. The entire event is on the ground floor of Deakin University’s Waterfront campus, and is accessed by the main entrance on Geringhap St. There are wheelchair accessible bathrooms (which include a hoist, shower, and rails) on this same floor. If you need a parent’s nursing room, there is an elevator which will take you one floor down. There are also numerous benches and seating areas within the main floor that you are welcome to use at any time.
Is there parking?
Yes! As GABYS is being held on a weekend, there is free parking in Geringhap, Moorabool, and Brougham streets surrounding the university campus. There is also parking along the waterfront. Please note that GABYS is not responsible for the security of your car, or for any items left in them.
If I’m not driving, how else can I get to GABYS?
The location of Deakin University Waterfront was chosen specifically due to its accessibility via public transport. If you are coming via train, it is a 5-10 minute walk from Geelong station. If you are coming via bus, it is a 5 minute walk from the Moorabool St Bus stops. You can also come via ferry from both Docklands and from Portarlington, as the Port Phillip Ferry terminal is directly opposite the campus. For more information on how to get here, please use the Public Transport Victoria Journey Planner or go to Port Phillip Ferries to plan your trip
Is there food and drink on site?
No, however, the Deakin University Waterfront Campus is walking distance to many cafes along the waterfront, as well as a 5 minute walk from the Westfield Food Court (second floor, Westfield). Additionally, if you are a coffee or hot chocolate fiend, we highly recommend the hole-in-the-wall cafe Brown - located in Cunningham st, directly next to the Deakin Campus. They do hot chocolates, coffees, toasties, and have a great assortment of cold drinks too.
Is my dog allowed to come?
With the exception of service animals, unfortunately dogs and other animals are not permitted on campus.
